I've put well over $1,000 dollars into backlinking services for my Amazon Niche site, maybe even $2,000.

I was at #2 for a week or two with one of my keywords, but all of a sudden it dropped to page 3 yesterday.

Now a keyword that's been #5 for a while is my highest ranking keyword, so my income (as little as it is) has come to a halt.

I've only made $200 dollars in 6 months off this fucking site. I'm ready to just give up and live on the street and sell drugs or something else equally shitty.

Is there a better way to get money than relying on Google, the most unpredictable site on the god damn internet?

First of all, do you know anything about SEO? Or did you just pay for all of the backlinks and tiers of social media?

What sort of backlinks did you spend money on? You shouldn't just recklessly throw money at projects. You need to know what you're doing first.

So tell me a bit more about your site, and the backlinks you bought, and I'll try to help you out. Don't quit though!

I know a fair amount. I use Website Auditor for my On-Site and I use No Hands SEO and ScrapeBox to buffer the links I'm paying for. I also just started playing around with UberBlogCreator.

I bought a couple of All-in-One SEO services, some social bookmarks, some blog comments and most recently I bought some homepage links.

The page in question (the one that dropped) is a PR4 page, the keyword only gets 6,600 exact searches a month. I thought it was going to be fairly easy based on my competition (almost no one actually had the keyword phrase), but it's not working at all like I want it to.

I wish it were that simple, I was told the exact same thing about the homepage links, which did help me get from #4 to #2, but now it's on page 3.

So I don't know what advice is even good anymore.

if it's any consolation, my main Amazon site was down for almost 3 days due to a server crash, it got back online yesterday so I have missed 3 days of sales.

Enjoy the holiday and come back refreshed :)

have you got Tutorial category? ... for example, if you are selling cd-s, you can have original (not copy-paste) tutorials on how to store cd-s, repair them and similar stories (G really likes tutorials - they make you an expert in their eyes).

    ... can't do any damage ;)

It looks like you know what you're doing. Now, I guess the thing with IM is, some projects end up working out, others don't.

The key is to, at one point, sit down and ask yourself; is this project worth continueing or not? I'm not saying you should quit, but sometimes we have to be realistic with ourselves. It's better you acknowledge your mistake earlier (eg. you picked a niche), than to get deeper and deeper into the project.

How much is the site earning at the moment, per month? Personally, if I felt like the venture didn't have much room to grow, I'd flip the site and try to recover my initial investment.

First off all gotta' realize SEO is a gamble. It becomes a more calculated and less risky gamble the more time you study it and the more time you dedicate to creating quality sites with great layouts, content, content updating, social aspects etc. But at the end of the day it's still a gamble. The name of the game is creating a ton of assets with no identifiable footprint (I.E Adsense ads on multiple sites) so that in the case that you lose one income source you'd still have others. Or focusing your heart and soul into one project and treating with caution, care, energy and lots of attention. I choose a combination of both. i have 1 authority site in my niche that gets thousands of visitors a day and that i've put my blood sweat and tears into. I then have a bunch of little "niche sites" that rake in some extra cash here and there and that I feel no emotional attachment to.

That being said. Your site could be google dancing. I've had it happen where I've been on page one and battled it out for months slowly climbing only to all of a sudden disappear for a week and end up number one thereafter. Only time will tell. Either way I'd start getting multiple projects running, and start learning to manage your time so that you can start creating a little mini web of online assets where it wouldn't a total heart breaker to lose just one.

That's the game we're playing folks. It's called gaming google.

you were #2 for a week and yesterday it went to page 3. if you know about IM you would've questioned whether it was a google dance and waited a week before you got scared and had to post a thread.

i wish you well and hopefully next week you'll bounce back.

Well, with $2,000 i can rank #1 more the 10 blogs, you have to know how to spend money and where. In your case, you have to wait a little, maybe it's just a dance.

okey lets see, onsite seo is not that hard, unless you are talking about content as well, so for 1 keyword 6.6k you cannont rank top3 with $2000? Something is wrong here mate, you are buying wrong services ))

It really hasn't earned anything yet until this month. When I finally got to #2, I made $150 in a week, but I haven't made a dime since the page dropped.

I certainly hope it's a dance. I've also been climbing very slowly for months before the drop, so this is a bit encouraging.

Yeah, my first thought was "Google dance," too, but the site that was in the #1 position was AsSeenOnTV, and now they've completely dropped off of Google for this keyword (though they never really had the keyword phrase anywhere). This happened on the same day my site fell.

Well, I'd love to hear of some good ones. I bought all my off-site SEO from the BST section of Blackhatworld, all of them with seemingly unanimous positive reviews.

I noticed after I ordered the services, the provider almost always asks you to leave a positive review in exchange for extra service. So people are only leaving good reviews after being bribed.

pretty shady, if i was the provider i would find it pretty embarssing to ask for a deal like that, it shows a lack of confidence in the service they provide

What is your domain name url? We can't suggest without looking at the whole package. We need see your onsite seo and do a backlinks report as well.

The way google bot spiders is it takes your links even the bad on surface value for a first round so you shoot to the top. Then on a second spider it starts to see the problems and a host of other things, like you did not keep up the pace of your link building like the first crawl meaning there is no natural link building just paid, so they in effect send you to the back of the class again, and again and again. it is not so much a penalty as matt Cutts says, but rather more a real-time placement. In other words you go back in rank as you should never of been in the top positions anyway.

This is true of how it first sees a brand new site. For about several weeks you are on the first pages of Google and then with a second crawl you not only go to page 3 you go to no page at all, you are in the sandbox. That is the mystical land that may or may not exist though dam if millions of websites dont follow this patterning. So there it is you cant get to where you want to go without organic link building. Buying links is not organic. Now you can however make it appear organic.

Check who you buy the links with and how fast they download them. Most are worthless as they are going on pages with 500 other links from every viagra and dushbag site on the net. Only buy links that allow you to place them or guarantees max of 100 links per page. Better to scout out 10 stellar high relevant high pr links then waste time on the numbers.:nana:

It can be the dance etc..
You must know what to buy and not just buy any SEO services ..
also don't buy many services at once .. buy one and see is it working for you or not..

    Good Luck

Your website is in google dance because right now google counts your backlinks. If you build backlinks fast your website will go up and down in serps. Dont panic man

You dont have to invest 1000$ in one niche with 6,600 searches. Just plan your things and money, learn about keyword research, see the potential from a niche and go for it. Dont make investments like you are blind. You needs money for captchas, vps (for tools), hosting and domains. Its that hard? I dont think so. You need to organize all your jobs you are making online.

Go back to your work now. :D
