I’ve no clue brother.Yes we all have.
I found myself in quite difficult situations in the past because of this effect to be quite honest...
Even financially I believed to be a master in strategically organising my life and found myself in big troubles because I thought "I know, I am intelligent and it will not happen to me because I know better than others".
You see this a lot with traders/gamblers who believe the market is learnt in 2 weeks or in IM people believe after 4 blog posts that they are SEO experts...
On a side note, it's also related to why we see other people sick or in trouble and believe it will never happen to us, because we are special and it's only OTHERS who have these problems... any name for this effect dear scientist phd @RushingWind ?
But I think a fair balance between caution and risk taking is needed to have a meaningful life. Don’t beat yourself too much over what has happened in the past. Learn from it, as you already have.
As someone else said above, always have an open mind but not to the extent that you’re taking input from clowns.
