I have a website with 300 backlinks, from different sites with pr 1-3, and im rank 4 for search term " swingers club" on Google Ro. Two weeks ago i was rank 2, and now are two websites above me with few backlinks from low rated websites, how is this possible? What can i do to be rank 2 again?

There is no way to know the full list of the backlinks of a website, not even yours...
Until now the more compete list for my own sites i get it from Google Webmaster Tools.
All other applications like Moz's Open Site Explorer always give me a considerable smaller list. In two of my websites Moz's Open Site Explorer doesn't even show old (4-5 yerars old) links from Wikipedia! (although Webmaster Tools show this particular link after a couple of weeks)
Furthermore many sites use scripts in order to refuse crawling of spider roboot's so there is no way to record links from this sites and then it is impossible to know the full list of backlinks from a website.

The main reason is, your competitor have very high quality content and offering something better than you. Try to upload more content in your website, will see some better improvements

They will have backlinks from a PBN but they block robots from being able to find them.

Quality on page seo helps also

The key to Rank any website is HQ Content. If some site has High Quality content, google will automatically rank them even if they has less number of backlink. As, you already have quality backlinks, I suggest you focus on your site content and update HQ content regularly, this way your site will be ranked higher..:)

They probably have a hidden PBN, as Hawkster said. Time for you to get some better links.

As suggested by all the members above, this may be happened because of:

    • Competitors have more quality content on their website with proper On-Page and strong internal-linking structure.
    • Competitors blocking robots to display their backlinks in backlink checkers.

You should closely explore their site structure and content pages, as this will give you an idea, where their sites are getting edge.

I'd assume it's the content, or better: The superior (from Google's point of view) content of you competitors. When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses not zebras.

Sure, there could be a hidden PBN, but this stuff isn't as popular and widespread "in the wild" as it is on BHW. In fact, the vast majority of websites worldwide ranks without a single PBN link, SAPE link or similar. BHW is huge, but this doesn't mean everybody is applying blackhat techniques.

They are smart enough to hide all their backlinks. PBN links + blocked bots, no competitor snooping around.

    Here is the small reason:
    Site 1:Wikipedia Page
    Site2: 1.93K Strong Backlink
Site3:Authority Website with rich Content [DA 76]
Site4[If you bodyshopnightclub]: Your homepage redirect to another page and You have lots of spammy 32.2K backlink.

Try to get some Homepage Backlink Like Site 2.

Backlinks are not everything that goes into ranking. It does play a big role but their are other important factors to keep in mind like site age, content, etc.

    Could be plenty of things.

    - Hidden PBN
    - Better onsite optimization
    - Better relevancy + interlinking
    - Backlink profile more diversified (what's your exact match anchor %?)
    - Higher quality backlinks (PR - TF/DA are in most part, useless. especially PR)
    - Better t2-t3
    - Domain has more authority (how old is your domain?)

It somewhat depends on the authority of the domain, relevancy to the search term, and quality of the content. The page might actually have a lot of links and they're just blocking spiders and that is why it appears to be ranking for a competitive term without links.

When you say no backlinks, how do you know that? Most sites hide their powerful links.

Typically, it just means they're blocking spiders access to their blog network, or in some cases, other links. Occasionally, especially with the lower comp KWs, they really don't have great links and Google gives them authority based on their on-site, or possibly even website citations (which I've noticed, but haven't tested personally, so take it with a grain of salt).
