I have a pligg website and daily i get around 10-15 bookmarking submissions to this website.
    Code:
    http://edition.cnn.com/2012/04/26/world/europe/uk-royal-kate-corporate/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
I don't understand why people are bookmarking to cnn website. Can anybody explain. What is the logic in this.

My website is not like digg where people save bookmarks and read later. This pligg website is clearly built for spamming own links.

They have backlink in comment and they are trying to add backlink strength (with their anchors)...

    Simple...

Either positive OR negative reputation management.

CNN, and other domains like it, have insane domain authority. Often times there's articles sitting on Page 2 for either positive or negative KW's and a little linkbuilding can catapult that article to page 1.

I didn't read the article so I dunno which angle is trying to be played, but I can nearly guarantee that's the end goal.

Its probably part of an automated link building system. They spammed comment links on there, then bookmarked them. But the comments didn't stick or may have never been approved
