Why are these companies charging so low for web rentals?

    Acquiring one client is difficult enough, so getting 10 clients would be too much work. Even with 10 clients (10 clients * $30.00) that's barely enough money.

    They're just looking for "i needs mees a websites" types or people that have been convinced they need a website for their ultra-part time lawn mowing business that will forget about the relatively small charge dinging their card every month for the next 5 years.

    Just by creating a crazy simple website titled tagged "Plumbers in North Beanbag Louisiana" they rank for it and they're happy as shit forever because there's no other plumbers in that teeeeenie market. I'm sure they screen their clients and pick their battles so no "plastic surgeon los angeles" for $30/mo.

    Exactly, and look at this... You said you googled them and they were on the first page? They are prolly having clients that have heard of the "rent a site" concept, and went directly to them via google. The keyword has 110 global exact searches/month.
