Why are even big channels now uploading lot of shorts?

I have seen that big channels who became popular with long videos are now uploading lot of shorts also. I have not done on my channel because I think it can harm the channel. Do you also think the same?

Maybe because youtube shorts will be monetized from February. Youtubers will earn income from shorts as well. I don't think shorts harm yt channel.

Youtube will shorty kill long videos on mobile, and push shorts to the limit.

That's why big Chanels have to adapt to this.

Mixing of shorts with long videos can harm channel. It also is time consuming to learn both and the tricks to succeed in both formats.

So youtube is adopting a time tested formula and encouraging creators to create shorts.

Your fucking with me.. I hate shorts. I was going to try to find a way to filter them out. I go to youtube for information and reddit. Google has all ready fucked google searches with mass blog content that is all poorly researched. Google Scholar is mostly behind pay walls.

Of course they will and they MUST do it. Shorts give boost, new subs and helps grow followership rapidly. It is a feature that You Tube has created to take the platform to the new level.

There is no reason why not to use it.

Yeah man I hate it too...Luckily nowadays we can filter the content in the youtube channel via Shorts or Videos.

Previously, we couldn't do that and it was frustrating.

Shorts videos are nowadays an awesome way of attracting audience to the YouTube channel in which the shorts videos are posted. And then such viewers do engage (like, comment, share, subscribe) if the videos in the YouTube channel(s) do appeal to them.
So, shorts videos can be used as a catalyst for growing a YouTube channel.
