Why am I not getting any more backlinks?

Hello!
I've been having 173 backlinks for Squidoo lens for ages now. In last 5 days I started posting comments on blogs, I also made hubpages with links to my site before, but none of these backlinks show up in any backlink checkers. Why is that? How do I get more valid backlinks for my niche site? Interesting that when I did blog comments for my blogs, backlinks got indexed in the checker, but not for my squidoo lens. Your suggestions?
