How cool would it be if the #mods decided to add hashtags to black hat world?!

    #bringinghashtagstoblackhatworld
    #internetmarketing
    #bestpostoftheday
    #newbs

then we could all stream posts that relate to #newbs for a good laugh!!
or we could stream #seotricks for the best seo tricks!

come on guys, this sounds like an awesome idea to me, will make a really
cool new search function. It would also spice things up a bit. (not that
BHW isn't already as spicy as indian food)

Not really, leave hashtags on twitter. We dont need anymore spam.

Besides whatever we wanted to # couldn't we just put that in the search bar and find it anyway.

or, you could just post keywords: ..., ... at the bottom of your post.
    like on wp themes.

I don't believe that # tags are inherently spammy. I would love to see hashtags implemented. It would cut down a lot of time on my reading as it'll be easier to read posts on a tagged topic (jumping over post to post in different threads, instead of repeatedly using the search function). Searching is a resource intensive task, which can be helped by hashtags.

    ok. and No.

Things have worked just fine without it, and how would it improve things?

Is thread subscription not good enough? Do we really need alerts? If someone wants to say or ask something directly instead of quoting a post, can't they PM? If they can't PM yet, can't they wait?

I still have not found a reason for the @ stuff. It's alerts for alerts' sake. Ease of access is not always a good thing.

hash tagging would be great but definatley would be abused by many!!!

Its one of those things that you would have to test and see what would happen to be honest.
