I've had multiple quotations and they all look very solid. Price is also given to me for shipping costs. The manufacturing companies are existing since they also share company information. I've done research on the market prices in my country vs how much I am going to buy overseas and the potential is definitely there.

However, given my limited experience in wholesaling and also dropshipping with countries in the Middle East, maybe you can help me out here:

    1. I've gotten quotations from Asian wholesale sites like Alibaba.com, is there like a protection if I hook up with manufacturers through sites like this? (ex. paying them like 50% and then making sure they won't run?)

    2. What are things I should consider when buying from overseas countries specifically in the Middle East?

    3. Assuming somebody has scammed me, is it easy to go there and find out where this company is?

    Thanks.

Its quite interesting that i came across this. I am actually already doing this. We import about 5-10 containers per month. Currently we bring the engine oil from UAE and then Private Label / Re-brand under various clients' labels locally in Canada and U.S.

I must say that i have a little bit of an advantage having family physically in UAE who takes care of things there.

RE: Money, You can try Escrow but many of the companies there may not be cool with this. If you are dealing with a big maufacturer and don't mind paying a little extra that might be the safer way to go about it

I would not recommend A.Baba. Most people on there are brokers.

Do let me know if you have any questions, will glad to help.

Most there are brokers? Then are you saying it is better to go there directly to place the orders?
