I am software developer but want to get success in seo. Trying from few years but didnt get anything from seo. Now at a point where my colleague doubled their package and i am still struggling hard in seo. Sometime feels to quit seo but dont like to work in private job culture. Seo can give huge amount but not for everyone.

As a freelancer, if you only care about money and job security, then a developer job is the way to go. Assuming you mean 'web' developer, the trick is understanding both the development and SEO side to offer unique value to any clients that may want to hire you.
As a business, SEO can be very lucrative because its a lot easier to scale to handle a larger number of clients, as automation can handle a lot of the boilerplate stuff required. If you value your time, sanity, and don't want to have to constantly interface with clients, this is the way to go.
