Alright, well I need a laptop for the 3D software that I want to upload. The software is: Maya, AutoCad & Vectorworks. Stuff that you build Exhibits with and Displays. So there won't be any hardcore rendering.

Now so far I found out that I want a windows based computer rather then a mac.

I also found out that I need a 4GB Ram,...

But no clue about the video card, and the processor. I talked to some people and they said the video card can be an 'average' one. But a quite fast processor.

I have friends who can build me a laptop from ground up if I don't find anything from the store.

But again... Its a laptop that I will use for around a year, a year and a half (MAYBE.. MAAAAYBE 2 years) so I need something to last me that long and that is it. Something that isn't really expansive, but does the job.

If you do 3D software, rendering, etc. it's gonna be an expensive setup.

Fund it with your blackhat cash.

You'll want an Nvidia 9800M 512MB GGD3, at least 4gb of ram (the more the better), and core 2 duo T9550 2.66 ghz

Gonna cost you at least $1k

By the way, i wouldn't build a laptop. They're pretty tricky. I've built desktops before, but not laptops.

Well ther entire company is based on building custom made laptops. so I hope they know what they are doing.

I'll message the info to them and see what they reply back with.

Look for a quad core laptop with a mobile graphics card like 9600 or 9800 listed above. Or for a a core 2 duo with lots of speed like the E8500 , GL

Yea let me find you a good cheap one on new egg give me a minute please.

EDIT : however most laptops now come wit windows vista, this can go slow due to the harddisk and so unnecessary, you would get a great performance increase using windows XP. ( format to XP after receiving laptop)

EDIT : this laptop is CRAZY fast and good, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220578
if you can afford it, it has a REALLY fast graphic card... that laptop will last you for lets say a good 5 years till Intel releases their new CPU that has like 50 cores or w.e lol

EDIT : going to bed PM me with anything else if u want

if you afford ... and if you need POWER in true sense of the words go at dell and look about precision , it's only one mobile workstation witch I know it's release and support 16gb ram :) ofcourse for few bucks extra you can get an killer quad core like this one '' IntelĀ® Core™ 2 Quad QX9300 (2.53GHz, 12M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB) ''and one of most nice videcards for mobile workstations : NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M, 1.0GB Discrete

Dude seriously man whats with you? I have answered all your questions more than once and you just choose to ignore me. Then you just post another thread asking the exact same question.

It seem's to me that you are trying to ignore that a Mac is your best option and instead get a cruddy PC which has 10zillion gigabytes of VRAM which isn't going to help you in any way.

It you don't wanna get a Mac then say so. Anyway I also agree with keinehabe if you wanna get a PC.
