In general I hate watching TV, but every once in a while I get trapped by the couch monster and am forced to watch some retarded drivel involving gold, alligators, pit bulls, storage units and some cunt named "Snooki". All of these things annoy me, but certain people get me truly enraged. I keep seeing them on the TV, year after year, and it just pisses me off that in a world of unlimited talent THESE are the people that "make it". And I can't help but believe that there aren't others that feel the way that I do. Maybe this is a niche worth exploiting, IDK. "100 of the World's Cheesiest Movie Quotes" has 12 million views. So you never know what might resonate.

So, for my contribution, here's Kathy Griffin, whose ugly mug keeps showing up on my TV set, year after year, and I have absolutely no idea why. NOT attractive, NOT funny, NOT entertaining, nor intelligent, nor any other redeeming quality other than for some reason people in the TV industry feel compelled to keep shoving her into my idiot-box, and forcing me to look at, and listen to her. Her voice sounds like a bag of cats being rolled down a steep and bumpy hill.

SteelBalls has it right! The Kardashians at the worst of them all.

She is famous b/c of a sex tape and now her whole family is reality tv famous. The mom is the worst of them all, she pimps out all of her kids for money. It is sad that we acknowledge any of them as celebrities considering how ignorant they all are. This is why I am about to swear off tv completely, it is sad that we give families like this so much attention. Fake hair, fake tits, plastic surgery, and expensive clothes and this is what people call HOT. So many fake plastic people today that our society is so confused. I agree that this family is #1 on my list of people that should not be famous and become more wealthy b/c idiots worship this human garbage.

Some people just have better publicity agents and image consultants. There are dozens, or hundreds of triple genius-level talented people getting rejected for parts in Hollywood or on Broadway every week, because their PR and networking machine was not as sleek as the mediocre talent with the "right momentum" or look of the moment, who does get the contract or spotlight. The record industry decided they needed a black Lady Gaga, so they started hyping Minaj. Ussher decided there was an opening in the market for a white clone of himself, so he creates Justin Beiber.

The consistent output of the mediocre is far more reliable than the inconsistent flashes of genius of the genuinely gifted, so show-biz usually projects the former to prominence. Most 'stars' are shaped in the modern entertainment world, not rewarded with fame for having real worth. The smart would-be celebrities (or their smart reps) understand this and so work hard to manufacture their "famousness" separate from ever demonstrating they have actual talent. That's why thousands apply to be contestants on reality shows, as they know (with the right management) they can write their ticket to a long ride on the celebrity fame train from that first 15 minutes they get.

"Celebrity" is just a word, and as the years progress it's losing its meaning.
 
I hate the whole celebrity business as it is. Where I live, once some idiot appears on screen the media starts to narrate all the stupid shit he/she does afterwards. Even years later, you can hear 'news' that XY bitch happened to have breast implants, or got into a drunk fight, etc. Basically the filth of society is being portrayed as an example to follow, and with this I think the media has a huge role on transforming society to what it is today. That being said I never watch TV, we even canceled our TV subscription.
 
I'm going to create a poll in this thread at some point, so post the names of the blighted and misbegotten. Also be aware that there are cultural and generational gaps here, and some forum members may have no idea who that weirdo in the picture is (like the mixed race alien rainbow freak with a beehive pigeon turd on her head; I have NO idea who that is).

Also some people might not know the name, so pictures would be a help. So, name AND picture would be best. I'd like to see who the most-hated is. I'll wait until the thread seems to die off, then post the poll, so get your entries in.
