Interesting, who or what inspired people in SEO, and what kind of SEO resources & tools are you using to be up to date?

Starting from myself:

BHW Forum
Ahrefs, SEMRush blog
Sistrix
MOZ

Brien Deen
Matt Diggity

The only person that I've been reading consistently when it comes to SEO knowledge is Brian Dean.

On the surface, it seems that a lot of what he talks about is not all that much different from the topics covered by Neil Patel and others.

But when you look at his overall strategy, the message is loud and clear: focus on copywriting for your website.

Usually, when people think of copywriting, they think of sales copywriting.

And this is where the "Brian Dean secret sauce" comes in.

Because if you were to put as much attention to details in your informational content as you would on a sales page, you probably would get better results.

And there is no better testament to the effectiveness of the strategy than Brian Dean's own website backlinko.com.

If you want proof of the pudding, pay close attention to the fact that he sold that site to one of the largest SEO tool companies on the internet.

If that isn't a validation of his content strategy, I don't know what is.

I like trial and error and dissecting other websites that are successful - that to me is gold.
with all the respect to brian dean or other 'gurus' , even if their info is legit, once they put it out there - how long do u think it takes for all the other SEOrs to do the same exact thing, and for google to catch up? food for thought ;)
