I just installed windows 8 and I can say I am very impressed, I think its very easy to use, things are just where you;d expect them to be :) I like the hotspots, which I thought I would not.

One note, I installed this on my netbook and it had no mouse, only 'touch screen' but works on my laptop.

    Here's a screeny! :D

    I had a go of win8 a while back.
I think they've gone a bit too conceptual with it tone honest, it does look nice but the simplicity that Microsoft are implementing into everything they do at the moment is what I really don't like :)

I can see what you mean, but I do like the layout, I for one am keeping it instead of 7 for now. But there are a few things that are buggy..

For example, I can't see radio buttons on BHW....

Windows 7 Ultimate has support until 2015. Let's f-ing hope that something new comes out by then besides the current version of 8.

It's way too god damn commercialized. I dig the lightness of it. I hate that it has so much shit that is default hidden that you can't help but wonder wtf is running in the background.

On the desktop, it's like a dumb version of 7, which was a flashy version of XP...So 8 is XP...with calls to action to buy shit.

    I blame Apple.

Keep in mind that Windows 8 could end up being a failure and not used like Vista or ME (Millennium Edition) were. Only time will tell... but for now, I'm still getting used to launching programs via keystrokes, not mouse.

Before: Mouse click on Start then click on the program that I want to launch. When I got a bunch of programs installed, I would move a link near the top for all the programs I used most often.

Now: Press on the keyboard Windows key, which pops the window open and puts the cursor into the search box... type the first 3 letters of the application - like calc and then hit enter... program launches.

Yea... it is faster but have to retrain myself... lol

Hahah I blame Apple too. But it's not much different from 7, and I woud by no means PAY for it, just wait till it's cracked.

And funnily enough, I had the beta version of 7 running for 18 months after the beta ended, worked fine, so I wouldn't be surprised if I'll still have this install of 8 in 2013! :)

I also found it very easy to find everything, the search is very quick! just hover the mouse over the far right of the screen, click search, and type.

First time I ran 7 and saw like 3 processes running and CPU usage at 3% and memory at like 5% I was all :O . I fell in love. It was everything I wanted in an OS after XP (little tidbit, since it's sunday. X is the Greek letter Chi, P is the Greek letter Rho. XP was a symbol for 'Christ' known as Chi-Rho. Chi-Rho. Cairo! Windows Cairo. The Ptolemy dynasty that ruled Egypt were Greek)

If this nonsense continues, Linux will gain a huge marketshare by providing an operating system that isn't just a desktop marketplace.

I doubt so unless you have a touch screen monitor already.

There used to be a black TV preacher on Sundays that would go on & on about all the numerical associations between what he was talking about and the "real world". Southern Black Preacher meets Numerology, although he might have been muslim, idk.

I still don't understand how they started off with waffles though.
