Who is the most reliable for keyword difficulty? I understand it isn't an exact science but the results below are vastly different.

I'll admit, keyword research is not my strong point but I am hoping to improve that, this is not helping me though!!!

    I found Ahres more reliable.

This is the reason when I have reviewed any keyword services on here, I check using 3, 4 or even 5 tools to compare results.

Then it's the manual digging that brings a better answer.

I always run through Ahrefs too.

i think semrush score is garbage - there is no rhyme or reason to it
everything else on their tool is great, but thats their worst feature

Well when I have scraped keywords from ahrefs with a difficulty of 0, they have ranked very easy. Yet the same keywords display a more difficult ranking in Semrush. It's not really conclusive, but I tend to just use ahrefs now.

Well that sounds promising anyway, I'll give ahrefs a try and see how they work out for me.

The keyword difficulty of semrush mean nothing, you should try MOZ to find the most reliable KD score also you will need to check manually in order to know if they use hidden PBN

I think they all just roll some dice mash it in with some random genererating algorithm and spit iut a number.

For instance I have a lifetime subscription to longtailpro, so I have the donloaded version and access to their cloud app.. Both spit out a different KC for the same keyword.
