    Hey guys,

long time reader but have not posted much around these parts, I have quite an extensive background in SEO, ppc, and Email marketing however up until this point I have never used my SEO skills to promote CPA products.

I have recently started working on my CPA seo network, and will be more than eager to report back and let you know how its going ( but perhaps thats another thread)

My real question for this thread is regarding CPA money pages and SEO. In the past I have always used very sales oriented money pages for all my landing pages using ppc, and email marketing. (IE: Flogs, reviews, testimonials)

When starting my SEO network it is my instinct to do a similar thing, and use a personal feeling testimonial / blog in order to promote the product and provide fresh relevant content to the blog ( probably outsourced ). On the main page I would promote the product and on the back pages have my articles, amazon feeds, and blog posts. I know that if I build the link structure properly all of it will get indexed beautifully but my real question is does Google find this practice acceptable or is it better to make the site more information based up front and have the sales on inner pages.

My fear with information based sites is that my EPC's will drop lower than I would want them too and negate my time and efforts. However I don't want to make it more work than it has to be to get a good ranking if I'm going to be slightly penalized for my sales efforts up fronts. As a side note I will be using php redirected header links with a robot.txt denying access to the page.

What are your opinions / success stories / failures on this topic ?

    Jay.

There's many different routes you can take. You can either have products on the main page, or in the internal pages.

If you have products in the internal pages, then you should do deep link building so that they rank high for that specific product.

You could have some general products on the homepage, maybe a "featured" product of the week or something.

Or you can have advertisements on the homepage such as ppc, adbrite, banners, clickbank, etc.

yes, i agree with everything your saying ^^ ... what is your opinion though of having your homepage as a sales landing page and having your content linked as a secondary purpose ?

Essentially the content is their for relevance and indexing but the real goal is to get the consumer to convert directly off the homepage without visiting any other pages on your site ? Of course if your recieve bonus traffic from your internal pages and articles this is great and you can have the appropriate funnels to get them to the sale as well.

Or do you find that you will have better staying power in google if the content is on the front page and the aff sales on the back ? Or is it all preference.

Here is a small opinion from a personal experience,

Dont Ever put products in secondary pages ! list all the products you wana promote on teh front page with a nice and clean and creative way and put links to the rest of the content on a side bare !

i have a niche website and i have articles and other stuff on the main page and products reviews on other pages , even though the links to the pages are clearly positioned but the clicks are very low and the bounce rate is so high, and i have a friend who is in the same niche as me and he is puting all his products on the front page and he is getting clicks to the merchant site and he is converting .

Bottom line is, we creat websites to make money so we must put our money makers on the front page, but it's all get down to your site designe. if you creativly designe your site you will be able to sell more and also get your visitors attention to your content .

    Home Page:
I make the main page - the TLD page - the money page. Then have your tos, contact, and article/content pages on other sub pages of the site. The money page, after all, is the one you want to have rank in SEs.
