for one of the keywords that I monitor, a blogspot page is ranking. they are using blogspot as their money site, they have their phone number and address listed there, everything, it's like a real site.

another keyword that I monitor, a weebly page is ranking. again, it is being used as a money site with phone number and everything.

I am trying to copy the same model. which high authority web 2.0 do you recommend? which one is easiest to rank #1?
I am not concerned about what features they have, like drag and drop etc. let's assume they are all equal in terms of features.

Seems like you just found two that are ranking, so why don't you do the same as them? Try weebly and blogspot then, wouldn't it be logical?

I don't get it. Do you think they're ranking because they're on web 2.0? Like a web 2.0 site has some advantage over a hosted domain? They still need to get backlinks to rank. If it's to be a money site, why not spend the $10 for an expired domain that has at least a few backlinks already pointing to it?

Never understood the obsession with web 2.0s. I understand why some people want to use some web 2.0s as part of a PNB (they're free). But I never understood why some people want to base a whole PBN on them or use one for a money site (they don't have any built-in, inherent value over a "regular" domain).

If there are multiple web 2.0s ranking in the top 10, that usually indicates a very low competition keyword

Purchase an exact match domain (if possible), add some great content, make sure your on-page SEO is up to scratch and you should outrank them.

It's not the case 100% of the time, but it's true more often than not

What are the search volumes for those keywords your monitoring ?

They are probably low competition and low volume keywords with not much monetary value.

because I thought maybe there is a better one out there.

what is it that you dont get? weebly has 10 million backlinks (ok I just made up 10 million but you get the point). it's called domain authority.
Actually, both keywords are competitive and they are ranking with no backlinks or bullshit backlinks (nofollow blog comments)

These are high competition high cpc keywords searched about 300-800 times a month.

Wordpress.com is cool, if your blog is legit, they give you a big boost when they feature you on their highlights list.

But your weebly blog is a subdomain of weebly. None of those 10 million backlinks point to your subdomain blog, and weebly has no links to your subdomain blog. So none of the link juice gets passed to your subdomain blog.

Anyone can sit around and create hundreds of web 2.0 blogs a day (weebly, wordpress, whatever). If the domain authority meant anything, then all a person would need to do is create a website, then create many new web 2.0s and point backlinks to their money site. Instant ranking. That isn't how it works. Though people with no money to spend on SEO keep trying it. There's a reason people look for *expired* web 2.0s - they're looking for web 2.0s that already have backlinks pointed directly to that specific web 2.0 subdomain.

Starting a new money site on a web 2.0? No advantage over buying a domain and hosting it. Like someone else said, the reason you might see a web 2.0 ranking isn't because the web 2.0 has some great power, it's probably because of low competition on the keyword. Or, their particular web 2.0 has backlinks pointing directly to it.
