rebelmouse.com one of the untapped web 2.0 and works like a charm, With proper on page seo they can rank for some really hard keywords.

I thought rebelmouse was a really bad website. All the cheap services on BST and fiverr I've tried use rebelmouse in their link building pyramids, they seem to let really spammy content on their site.

    Livejournal
    Bravesite
    Edublogs
    Wix

This are some of may favorites :) which passes link juice and yes do follow

Build unique content on this and age it :) then put links on it. Or better find an expired aged web 2.0 and aim for pr web 2.0 yes Pr coz its a web 2.0 since their different from an expired domain. Well this is just my preference. :)

Any web 2.0 that's high PR and do follow will work.

Please dont waste your time with nofollow web 2.0s

People will say it does not matter but it does, google made do follow and no follow for a reason. One passes link juice the other doesn't.

livejournal is always on noindex for me. I heard that they make it index if you post regularly. I tried for almost 6 months and it is still noindex. tumblr and wp work fine.

Your best bet is to build them all and test. Just make sure they're of equal quality and has similar links.

try exteen and fc2, they're easily indexed by G, next to tumblr, blogspot and wp.

While I agree with most people over here, I've got something else to suggest :D

    Do the following :

    1. Input your target key phrases in Google and hit search

    2. Scroll through the top 100 results and list down any web 2.0 you find. Don't just limit yourself with sites that are well known. If you think you could just sign up and post content, just note it down.

    3. Repeat step 2 with other important key phrases you have.

Result : You now have a list of web 2.0s/free blogging site which Google tends to favor for your niche. Getting a link from those properties would be ideal.

Another option to check if it's loved by Google :

Go to semrush.com and input the platform root domain ( ex : tumblr.com ) and see the traffic trend over the past one year. If the graph is stable is on the rise, you have a good web 2.0 to use. If you see a sudden drop in traffic at some point, or it's declining steadily, you know it's best to keep it away.

I just don't get why people are obsessed with "high PR" web 2.0 properties.

To be clear, public PR has not been updated for over a year - so you have absolutely no idea what the PR of a site actually is. It might have been PR4 in 2013, but it could be PR0 now and you wouldn't have a clue!

There is also not a lot of evidence that parent domain PR/trust etc passes on anything to created subdomains - you create a Web 2.0 it has PR/Trust of ZILCH, regardless of the fact that the parent domain has a high level of trust. To give you an example, lets look at Tumblr. Everyone knows, including Google, that alongside the good blogs are millions of the worst sorts of spammed crap - so why would Google give those subdomains some sort of automatic trust "leg up". It makes no sense.

What matters is that you create something that is high quality and that you build links and trust to that sub-domain.

And don't look at the mozrank stuff to deeply - it's a very small and incomplete metric.

basically, if you believe that the PR you can see is the real PR, or that it matters in relation to creating a new subdomain web 2.0 then all you are doing is fuelling the fantasy that helps the service providers here to hook people in with promises of "High PR web 2.0 creation".

I will go with tumblr as most of the indexed pages of my site come through it even though I have used all of these.

Tumblr and Wordpress are good, but it'[s hard to keep Tumblr accounts alive if your content is spammy.
