Hi Fellow BHW members,

Can you please share which social media platform brings most traffic to your website or blog? It may be organic or paid, doesn't matter. Please share the name of the platform - Facebook. Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram or anything else?

Youtube-Paid where I work in the tech company

Local directories for my national business.

If you talk about only the social media platforms then Facebook is a leader.
But driving traffic to the website is something that depends on what kind of things you have and whose your target audience are?
Like for fashion & beauty- Instagram is best
for Professional, upper management- Linkedin
for B2C- Facebook
It's not like that you can post anything anywhere and you are getting traffic from there.

Depends on niche. Anything to do with women, you'll see more traffic from pinterest. But I've received a good amount of traffic from Quora and FB. Instagram needs to allow clickable links in their captions. They'll lead in driving traffic then. I'm even ready to pay $2-$5 for a clickable link in the caption.

Back then when I was involved in CPA, Youtube was my only traffic source. The targeting is superb. Its like social media of Google search engine.

But now I only do cold email because I promote B2B services.

FaceBook for sure when you posted in relevant groups. Reddit and Twitter also work.

Pinterest --> build for the purpose to send traffic to your site, its a search engine
Reddit --> mods can remove link and post
facebook
quora --> mods can hide the post it will be visible to you only
so pintrest is best and ditch the rest?

Twitter (99%)
Which is a problem. I don't understand why I cannot transform with others social media platforms.

All depend on your niche and staying upto date with how you can spam social media.
Here is the thing. Social media wants visitors to stay on their site and and we want them to come to our site or atleast drop us backlinks.

Honestly, it's Facebook groups.

Facebook is a great way to drive traffic if you know what you're doing.

Here's a hint.

You can't just randomly drop links from your blog on related Facebook groups and expect not to get banned.

It doesn't work that way.

Here's how I do it.

I would find all groups that are related to my niche.

It doesn't matter if they have less than 1000 members.

As long as they have over 300 members, I'm good.

So I come up with a very long comprehensive list of Facebook groups that are related to my niche.

The next thing I do is I filter that list by checking out what people actually post.

So if the moderator is super anal and doesn't ever allow small-time blog posts, I delete that group from my list.

I also filter based on organic activity.

Is this a spam group or are people truly interested in asking questions and supplying answers?

If the latter, I keep them on the list.

If it's mostly automated or there's a lot of gibberish, I get it off my list.

So at the end of this process, you have a legit distribution list.

Now, "to activate" that list, you have to invest about two to three weeks of your time.

So basically, you go through the list and you just answer people's questions or you post questions.

You never link to your site, you never share your content.

Instead, you share information and if needed, you share links from well-known sites like news sites like CNN or Time.com or depending on the niche, New Scientist.

So the key here is to build credibility and legitimacy.

So you do this for about two to three weeks or longer if you're in a competitive niche.

And then, once people know that you're legit, you start sharing some of your content.

But don't go crazy, maybe share one link every 10 days.

The key is to keep building up your credibility. If you do this right, then you will be well-rewarded.

This is a marathon, it's not a sprint.

Don't expect to just drop a link and all of a sudden, you get all this amazing traffic.

It doesn't work that way.

True. It all depends upon your niche.

However there is a basic rule that is same for all social media platforms - Keep it active with regular postings.

If you keep your social media pages / accounts / channels regularly updated then there is an organic growth that happens automatically.
