    Hey,

I have just developed a new website (retail - sending real products) and I am looking to start link building etc so I am looking to purchase a complete SEO package from the marketplace.

I am a bit of a newbie to all this SEO business, so I was just wondering which of the packages uses Whitehat methods? I do not want my website blacklisted/sandboxed by Google, so I do not want to be using any dodgy practices, I want the work to be as legit/natural as possible.

Any advice you can give this newbie will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

If you need whitehat SEO, go to the marketplace and ask the providers. They are a lot of them there.

Sooo the whitest service would be things like copywriting & graphic design, pretty much anything else is grey/black hat but that doesn't necessarily mean that you will get slapped down by Google . General advice would be to spend a few weeks / months in this forum to get a flavour how stuff works. It takes Google a few months to (highly) rank sites so if yours is new use the time to learn and take things slowly.

Press releases, good web design, infographics to attract links and traffic and content are probably safe. Press releases can sometimes trigger a slight temporary penalty for new sites cuz you get too many links at once from the distribution network, but if the site has a good link profile and is established, PRs are safe too.

But with Google you never know. They can penalize anyone for whatever reason.
