Option 1:

This works. People do this 24/7/365 with paid ads in profitable niches promoting a product.

This won’t be a popular opinion on BHW but your question is which is more profitable - it’s going to be this. More millionaires have been created with paid ads than organic traffic. It’s more scalable and it’s faster to pivot.

This doesn’t make it easy. You’ll get eaten alive in the beginning. If you’re good enough you’ll survive.

Option 2:
Don’t do this.

There are people who make ad arbitrage work but they’re not the ones who are going to tell you how it works.

I like the model but you’d need to go way beyond a blog with Adsense.

Option 3:
You’re on an SEO forum asking if you should do SEO.

It’s like asking the pope if God exists.

This can definitely be profitable, and you’re going to get shit for Adsense but it can outperform some networks like Ezoic these days.

I wouldn’t say it’s the most profitable but yeah, it works.

/Edit: on my phone so pardon spelling and formatting issues.

I love and appreciate your response.

I have always loved Option 1 and I know that it is not easy with a new blog but it is doable.

Thanks

Wonderful reply.

OP, option 1 is the best.
Option 2 is a big NO. You wil end up spending a lot more than you will earn back with Ad sense. So never do it.
Option 3 is a good for long term plan because organic SEO takes time but its impact lasts long too.

Select any option from 1 or 3, except 2.

Someone above suggested this as well, but you can also combine options 1 & 2. Not enough people do this.

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) is about getting your traffic to convert to whatever your goal is. That might be getting a higher RPM from ads (such as Adsense or whatever network) or purchasing a product.

With free organic traffic, we can afford to be a little lazy in this area. I think a lot of affiliate marketers leave money on the table because they gloss over this step.

For paid traffic, you need to have this nailed. It won't matter how good your ads are if you can't convert the traffic to actual revenue.

I have projects I've worked on this last month that were tested with PPC and media buy traffic to get them to convert. Now that there's organic traffic flowing through them, they're doing roughly 600% of what they were before had I just left them alone. Paid traffic can force you to figure this out in a way that organic doesn't.

If you have the budget, option one will force you to hone that funnel and test the market. If you're good (or incredibly lucky), it could even fund your option 3.

AS A HUGE DISCLAIMER. I will say that if you're new to this and don't have the cash to burn, start with option 3. Option one is hard. You're in direct competition with both big brands and people who eat, sleep and run ads. The learning process for option 3 is more forgiving, and the ROI is likely better. It's less exciting but also less risky.

It all depends on your traffic and their behavior. For instance, there is a bigger chance pet niche traffic will buy ebooks and products relating to their hobby (or health freaks buying these stuff for another example) than news traffic which will most likely won't buy ebooks or products but may click on ads. You need to think this over based on your niche and traffic and find the relevant monetization streams for them.

Good luck!

Option 1 will be the most profitable in the short term.
Option 2 does not make sense, the advertising expenses will be greater than the revenue from Google Adsense.
Option 3 is long term but may be more profitable than option 1 in the long run.

Option 1 and Option 3 are both viable options. Do continue if option 1 is profitable in 3–6 months. If you know what you're doing, option 3 is the way to go.

Start a blog and begin monetizing with Adsense once approved after meeting their requirements. If you get traffic soon you will also start earning without waiting for a long time. Companies like Mediavine which are based on Adsense pay much more. Build your list from day one and promote affiliate offers. When you have your own infoproducts you can sell them on your site and promote them to your subscribers. You will not be able to grow your blog and create infoproducts at the same time. It will be too much work. So wait till your blog is established.

The real money is in the list, your captive audience, who will buy from you again and again.

Option 1 and Option 3.

Option 1 needs a larger capital at first, option 3 is better for long term. Maybe you can do both in one site.
