I have two money sites. Not in the same niche.

Is it better to create a general topic PBN site that links to both of my money sites? My fear is a footprint because eventually I'll have 100 PBN sites that keep linking to the same two websites only.

Or, is it better to keep everything separate? Create one PBN site to link to one money site. Create another PBN site to link to the second money site. Rinse and repeat, so eventually I have 100 PBNs linking to money site one only and 100 different PBNs linking to money site two.

Although it's more work to create separate PBNs for each site, it definitely is safer, and you can argue more effective if the PBN sites are related to the money site.

Separate PBN for separate sites. That's the best strategy, OP.

Technically it's more efficient having both links on both PBN sites, if you think about the maths behind it:

1 PBN has 6 links (just for argument's sake), one of which is to your money site, the rest are contact pages and other posts etc, delivering 1/6th (16%) of the link juice to a money site.

If both links are on both PBNs then 1/7th of each site is delivered to the money site = 28%, that's a wopping 12% increase for the same number of PBNs.

Now the counter argument is that niche relevant sites have more power, which is certainly a possibility. Truthfully there's no definitive answer which is more powerful, so hedge your bets and use a mixed strategy.

Another note in favor of putting both money sites on both PBNs is that it evens out any PBN strength variances. If 1 PBN was more powerful than the other then 1 money site would suffer if it was 1 money site to 1 PBN.

Is there any testing/logic behind that?

It is much better to have niche related PBN's, otherwise it defeats the object of buying expired domains with a related link profile. Keeping them separate also reduces overall risk... as mentioned.

I am keeping two separate PBNs, only 1 money site per PBN for added peace of mind. That way it'll take 2 PBNs getting penalized or
fully de-indexed instead of just 1 huge PBN with the two money sites. Similar situation as you OP.

You'll get a lot of opinions on this but few of them will actually be based on testing and fewer still on reality.

The truth is there is no true answer to this. None. Because it's a grey area.

Technically linking to multiple money sites means more efficiency for your blog network. Or at least more outbound links whether or not this is more efficient to link out to different niches is up for debate. But in the current SEO climate this does increase your risk.

If you're in my niche I'm reporting your blog network to Google (sorry but that's just how my SERPS roll) and when a reviewer see's your network linking to another money site it's getting slapped too even though it's not been reported.

Personally I have a mix of the two. Some of my links go to just one money site while others will link to several.

Yet to fully set up my PBN but in my opinion, would never try that. Footprints are much easier to detect, any problem having separate network for each money sites ? Trust me, much safer to be separate. I stand to be corrected though.

But if the OP does it correctly and hides his PBN sites from crawlers then you can't report (douche move btw). I'd use the same network but would keep the moneysites on different IP-s and name servers with different WHOIS data.

I would also vote for keeping them separate, just in case one of them gets taken down the other is not affected.

There's something quite detestable about that comment. I hold what you just said as being worse than negative SEO, you're potentially destroying multiple businesses, with innocents being potentially caught in the crossfire. An eye for an eye and the whole world is blind.

I wish you and every one of your income streams exactly what they deserve.

If you go through all the trouble of trying to avoid all footprints by making your PBNs look like "real sites," niche-specific, hidden from crawlers, and all the rest - why would you put the most *obvious* footprint of traceable, multiple money site links on them?
    Separate. Period.

Stay on the safe side ,

Build a PBN specially for that one money site and do so for other ones , makes sure to diversify the backlink profile with some decent and readable blog comments , 2-3 paged web2.0s and some video shares , give it some social love as well ,

Personally i would prefer using PBNs from a variety of service providers to your money sites rather than building one yourself. This definitely reduces the chances of footprints. In case the PBNs by service providers gets de-indexed you just lost that much money and not your whole network, you can move on and look for other PBN packages. Just my thought process on this, may not be always useful strategy for everyone.

What? Are you crazy? There is no higher risk then buying links from Public networks.

No the only way to stay away from google radar is, build your own and keep it secret.

There is nothing without risk, if we think so then it is just so wrong in 2015.

Private or Public it hardly matters, if you got found out or your competitor reports you the whole network and your money site is doomed. Only advantage with public networks in this scenario is that it is easy for you to move on without worrying much about the losses, but imagine the same with a bunch of de-indexed Private Networks sitting in your business lounge which have already incurred hundreds or may be thousands of dollars to built up and run.
