I'm still in the learning phase of PPC. And I've read plenty of reviews on Keywordspy, PPC Bully and Spyfu.

I find that most of the reviews are biased.

Is there is anybody on BHW who has used all 3 tools in the last 90 days?
Can you please give us pros & cons on your experience with these 3 tools. Is there any feature that maybe all 3 tools are missing?

How accurate are any of these tools?

All of these tools mainly base their data off of Google estimators or ISP's. In turn, this ISP data is collected either from small focus groups (5-10k users) or at best, a few million users who have agreed to install monitoring software in exchange for gifts/prizes. That means the data provided to you is just a tiny sampling of what's going on out there. Or it's piggybacking off of Google. Most likely both.

Don't invest too much into what any of them say (Google tools included). Just use them to get a general feel for what's happening and some recommendations for what to target.

Here's a Wikipedia article I wrote that compares features of two of the services you mentioned, among others.

Also, I know also that SpyFu updates all their data every month, whereas KeywordSpy updates some of their data more often and some of it less often than that probably depending on the popularity of the keyword. This allows KeywordSpy to have more keywords in their database and just not update them all the time. So make sure to check the date scraped in their reports. Also check the dates on SpyFu data since they show historical ads on keywords that a company may not be using anymore. They actually have charts now that show advertisement history on each keyword over the last 12 months.

Neither...Keyword Competitor is all-time best. It is the World's First REAL TIME Keyword Research and Keyword Monitoring Tool. All the other keyword research tools use databases that carry old stored data.

The Top Keywords change frequently and can determine ranking significantly. And it is important to have the freshest data. Every domain search on Keyword Competitor reveals what organic/paid keywords and ads are being run by a web site right this moment.

badd, can you give more details on why you think keywordspy is the best?

Do you find easier to use or is it more accurate ?

In the interest of full disclosure, I want to note that I work for SpyFu. The information I gave, however, is independently verifiable.

what's more accurate is your PPC campaign

use regular keyword tools to generate keywords and dump them into your ppc campaign

get the impression count and see what gets searched

I have been using ppc bully. It has helped jump start my ppc campaigns. However, at times it has not been much help.
