Hello Fellow SEO's,

I just started with my own e-commerce seo project. Just looking for an opinion on the following:

Which is more important, When it comes to e-commerce seo? (Given that website's technical seo is in place).
  1. On-page SEO.
  2. Off-page SEO.
Please also share some tips and strategies that one should follow while implementing the same.

Since the end goal is to rank your target -category pages .

I’d advice prioritizing both areas. Building good links without optimizing for target seed is a waste of time and vice versa.

In my opinion on page is the most important part of any SEO.
For e-commerce Branding is very important.
Off page SEO is secondary here just because most generic products already have big players.
It's nearly impossible to outrank them on most ocassions.
So here's where PPC ads come into the picture, are this is why fb ads is more popular with dropshippers.

Overall It's more fruitful to focus on web & content optimization, Branding, & PPC for an e-commerce site.

Both are crucial. If don't have time for both I'd focus on branding/social media. And even if you can invest in both start with branding as well.

You can't choose between the two, you have to do get both right. If you are going for popular products, ranking for those will be a challenge. Your competition will be too strong and it will be hard to outperform them. There are ways to be creative. You can go for best of lists and include your products in there, that way you have affiliate competition which is not as high. You can also search for individual products <product name> + review, keywords and see which ones are easier to rank for, then go and stock those products. I saw an e-commerce site for sale that's making $30K a month from organic traffic, and those were some of the strategies they employed. You can do well with e-commerce SEO since the products are your own and the profit margins are a lot higher than if you had an affiliate site. You need fewer sales and you make more money, the caveat is that you have to invest more money in stock upfront and have to figure out how you will do your customer service and order fulfillment.

Both.

SEO is not just one variable. Nothing should be overlooked.

Although, links are crucial if it's a competitive niche.

And any suggestions for a good Off-page seo strategy for ecommerce websites?

You should focus on the Backlinks, Guest Posts, and Video marketing.
Can you explain bit of it in details on how to leverage video marketing for e-commerce websites? Please share some ideas and strategies.

With one thing you can't rank better, look into both factors balanced for better results.!

Both are Important

If you thinking only for On page SEO , it would hardly Rank (Sill Depends on keyword Competition)

If you thinking only Off Page , It Would hardly Rank

And Check on User Engagement.

Focus on Paid Ads as Well (Facebook , instagram , Google , TikTok)

Both are important also focus on adds for better result since most of the keywords are already saturated in eCommerce niche!

On-Page SEO is as important as Off-Page SEO. Performing both On-Page and Off-Page SEO practices gives you better results.

I see lots of eccom sites that have very weak content, duplicate content, so when working on them with updating product and category description usually you can get good results, for example, new products comes out, all sites list new product and lots of them will just copy paste content from manufacturer, so if you make a good original text you will rank better in most cases, after all that is sorted out (some sites have tons of those kind of listings) you can work on the links, or if you have the time/money do both at the same time, if you are making a new site, make nice original content from the start
