What do you all think? For 1,000 a month would you rather get privately made sites linking to you or one or getting a few authority links a month including places like Forbes, etc.?

Wondering as I'm about 5 months into an SEO campaign revolving around PBN's, I got two a couple authority links during it and think that may have given me the biggest boost besides for the beginning of the campaign when some keywords jumped over 20 spaces. The SEO guy does say to give it 6 months though.

It would be a bummer to stop now though and have all those PBN's erased so I'm curious what you all think. Also might it be a good idea to keep with the PBN's going and try to throw in an authority link on top of it every month?

    Thanks

PBN-s all day long for me. You have full control over them and nowadays you can buy the domains for just reg fees. However, I do add guest posts in the mix from other niche relevant sites, but not the usual Forbes, Huffington Post, etc.. links. It doesn't make sense for me to pay $1k+ for a link when with the same amount of money I can build 100 other HQ links.

Pbn's anyday if you are doing everything right along with huge diversification. Links from forbes, huffingposts etc and big authority sites are not really worth the money.

Do you pay $1000 a month for seo.....? If so now wonder the seo guys telling you to wait 6 months ;)

Or are you talking about paying $1000 a month for a link like Forbes? Didn"t know they charge monthly. I know an author at most of those sites who does them for $750 one off fee.

We are paying 1,000 a month for SEO. Is that low cost or expensive?

Also I don't mean 1000 for a link from Forbes but I can get for a similar price like you mentioned around 6 or 700 dollars.

It depends on the keywords you are trying to rank for. Most legit SEO companies charge at least that amount and in most cases way more. There is no "right" figure when it comes to paying for SEO, because it depends on many factors. However, 1 thing is for certain - as any business, if you do it yourself, it will be WAY cheaper than if you hire a company, because you pay for their time as well and any other expenses the company might have (employees, rent, utilities, sales, etc).

Regarding the links, I would say again it depends on your business model. If you are trying to rank affiliate sites go with PBN-s, you can't get links from those authority sites for low quality affiliate sites anyway. If you are trying to rank a legit business or startup and you need as many people as possible to find out about your business, go with these links as they will have other benefits except SEO.

However, again, I do recommend you do it step by step - rank lower competitive keywords with other kind of links (such as PBN-s) first, and when you see some profits, scale up and grow your business more by targeting more competitive keywords and getting all kind of authority links you can acquire.

So I'm wondering now if I should drop this SEO company though it would suck to lose 5 months of progress. I wonder if the authority links I aquired would keep me ranked.

It seems like if I stick with the SEO company I'm stuck paying them 1,000 a month, but on the flip side if they can get my site to be thousands of dollars for traffic a month than maybe it would be worth it but as you said it would be cheaper to do without a company.

Damn. Maybe I should do that. I'm pretty newb at it though and wouldn't know how to design it but I can see if there are people here that can make nice looking ones for cheap.

I even thought of adding Facebook to some of the PBN'S made for me in case it might help their authority. The PBN'S that have been built so far for my site do have pretty nice metrics though - trust and citation flows around 30.

Make it look natural. If FB links would seem natural, then go ahead.

Metrics looks good.. Keep working on your PBNs and do not limit yourself to this alone. Build some real guest post links (niche related) to make your profile look natural. Diversification is key here.

do what you want, and i think if you have more energy to do much things you can keep with the PBN's going and if you are not rich, you can get the authority links, but, if i choose, i will choose the former, because i can learn much more experience

Yes more or less right. You should spend more energy on PBM to make right link, so you try with authority site links instead. Do you have knowledge to make sure the links are good?

Of course, you can add social signals to looks more natural. Check out any well ranking site. It will most likely have PBN links as well as Social Signals from Twitter, Facebook and Google+ along with real traffic.

Niche relevant PBN links with good metrics ( PA/DA, CF/TF ) have been and always will be a very good option to rank sites, IMO combining a few different options like guest posts, high authority is the best way to go. I have seen some very strong results from using a combination of Guest post and PBN links together.
