    What would you guys choose?

You can get EMD but have to use hyphens... ex) domain-name.com

You cannot get exact EMD but use a small prefix or suffix... ex) domainnamehq.com

Which would you use and why?

I would go with the - in the name. I *think* its better for seo, and as long as your not trying to market your site via word of mouth, people won't mess up and forget the hyphen.

I would take a single hyphen over a stop-word. Multiple hyphens becomes a different question.

I would get the one with the hyphen...as there can be any # of prefixes / suffixes (and so they can be forgotten or confused easily).
