Which domain name is better for keywords??

I am a noob when it comes to SEO but I've read that domain names with keywords are very important.

My question:

If I had a keyword as "plumber in london", which domain would be ranked better for those keywords;

www.plumberinlondon.com

or

www.plumber.inlondon.com


I realize I should go the regular domain route, but to start out it would be cheaper to make a bunch of subdomains. Plus, in my campaign the domain name won't have to be memorable or easy to type.

My main concern is if I start backlinking, etc. will one be better than the other?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

get it all in one if you can, it's better. .infos can be cheap.

Better how? Can you elaborate?

Same thing. If you SEOed the keyphrase, they're all be used and bold at search...
.info are cheap but will be deindexed if you sell something with them...You should use them for INFOrmation purpose only for best results...

Because subdomains are considered separate. if you do dogfood.com/hard, /soft, /adult, /puppy, etc. it's all under one domain. If you do hard.dogfood.com, soft.dogfood.com, etc. they're on different domains.

I'd go with the first option. Always try to maximize keyword density in your URL. For example if your keyword is Cheap London Plumbers then your best domain for SEO and for people is:

cheaplondonplumbers.com

But, say all the domain extensions are taken, I'd do research on Google Adwords Keyword tool and see the 2nd most searched keyword related to this. Say it is Cheapest London Plumbers, but you want Cheap London Plumbers as your primary keyword because it gets the most searches then:

cheapestlondonplumbers.com would be the best. You can compete for both keywords and still have good density for your main keyword. It also sounds good too and can easily be remembered or typed in.

Always strive to get a .com, but if not make sure it is as good for SEO as possible and it sounds good. You want it to be as good as possible in every aspect.
