Which Backlinks are worth for my website to use?

Hey guys I have been into seo recently and I'm being confused that what seo backlinks are worth to use for my website.
As recently I have used backlinks on my website and I ain't seeing any results after 2-3 months are my backlinks spammy or backlinks doesn't hold value in 2026.

Backlinks still have value in 2026, but the type and relevance matter much more than the raw number.

2–3 months without movement doesn’t automatically mean the links are spammy. Content quality, search intent, internal linking, topical authority, and competition can all determine whether those links actually help.
 
One good, relevant backlink can be worth far more than dozens of low quality links. Look at relevance, the quality of the referring domain, organic traffic, the page where the link is placed, and whether the site looks like a genuine publication rather than a site built mainly for selling links.
 
I feel that the relevance and quality of these backlinks is more important than their sheer volume even a couple of relevant backlinks from quality sites can be worth more than a large volume of irrelevant ones furthermore it might not always be sufficient to have a period of two to three months in which to evaluate the performance of the website.
 
You can check that the linking pages are indexed and actually related to your niche/topic. Also, check the anchor text and verify that your links are coming from unique websites. Backlinks from relevant high quality sites and brand mention links have also been working well for us, especially when the mention appears natural.
 
I would also check whether the backlinks actually got indexed and if the referring pages are getting any traffic. A link can look good on paper but if the page has no visibility or gets ignored by Google, I wouldn’t expect much from it.
 
Backlinks still have and will always have value, actually they are one of the most important ranking factor. Are the pages you got backlinks from indexed on Google and Bing? Do those sites have a strong link profile? Are these sites getting any traffic at all?

I'd focus on quality and relevance rather than volume. A few relevant sites with real traffic and a natural link can be more useful than hundreds of random links.

If you’ve seen no movement after 2–3 months, I’d also check anchor text, indexing, target-page intent, and whether the links are actually helping the page before building more. Google specifically warns against link schemes and low-quality link spam
 
in my opinion backlinks doesnt hold much value in 2026 i would recommend you to focus more on technical and on page SEO rather than buying backlinks
 
A relevant backlink is not just about matching the same niche. The actual page linking to you should have useful content and a genuine reason to reference your page. That makes the link feel natural instead of something added only for SEO.

Exactly. I always go for the linking page itself first; if there is any value added to the link, it will definitely be more natural in nature.
 
There is no singular factor that determines your ranking; several factors contribute to ranking, such as domain authority, content depth, on-page optimization, technical optimization, quality of backlinks, topical relevance, and authority of the entire website.

Therefore, I don't measure the success of your SEO campaign after 2-3 months. The best thing I suggest for you to do is to comprehensively review the competitors holding your target keyword's top 10 positions. I examine their content depth, referring domains, quality of backlinks and internal links, range of topics covered, and the overall architecture of their websites.

It generally gives me a much clearer explanation to what your website needs in order to excel, rather than concluding your backlinks are useless
