I am looking for the best place to just buy domains, and then that's it. We don't want hosting, as we have our own. And does anybody know, do you get discounts for buying large amount of domains at once, and if so, who does that?

if you're buying one at a time i recommend NameCheap for a clean interface, no upsells and free privacy. For bulk I say LuckyRegistrar.

    I suggest Moniker
A domain with privacy is $7.50 or so with privacy once you enter their 2nd tier

Keep in mind if you ever want to transfer it, the person who you're transferring it to needs an account at that site. With that said don't use GoDaddy simply because they have horrible support. Stick with Name.com or NameCheap.

I have used GoDaddy for the past 3 years and never have had an issue to the point that I needed support. Most everything can be found on the site and almost everything has processed quickly. I have had 1-2 times that it was slower than I expected (24-48) but this was during holidays and I also have had more than 150 domains with GoDaddy so you see the results :)
