    Part 1

About 13 years when I was 19/20 years old, I was as wild as they come. I sold drugs, I drank, threw parties, ran with a gang, and did some things that were just not right. Then my first daughter was born, and when she was a year old (12 years ago) I quit selling drugs, and smoking weed. I kept doing some of the other stuff, but then my son was born. We then moved out of the neighborhood we had been living in so things got a little better. The problem was though, that even though we had moved, we kept going back to hang out. It wasn't until when my son was a year old that things really changed. One of my old friends caught a 1st degree, then another got killed by the police, (same street, same month), that we realized how serious it was, and decided that if we wanted to be around to see our kids grow up, that it was best to just cut out the whole lifestyle. So we moved to the country and went on to have another daughter. We were doing pretty well, but our relationship went downhill and we ended up splitting.

    Part 2

Now that I was no longer living with my kids, and I was in some hard times, I fell off again and reverted to my old lifestyle. The difference this time though is that (even though it was bad) I was doing it for my babies. I took good care of them, even though I didn't live with them, but I was risking my life and freedom at the same time. So this went on for about 3 years, until I found a real good job and quit the side business. I worked there for 2 years, and during the last 8 months I was on that job, I ran into a beautiful woman that would end up being what I now call my wife (my better half) :)

    Part 3

I met my wife, and she already had a 1 year old son, then within a year we had our first daughter between us (Jayla). Some of you know about Jayla because of her recent birthday thread (her birthday was saturday). Shortly after she was born, I started doing a little IM to try to make more money. I didn't get real heavy into it at the time though, and then we had Jasmine. Jasmine almost died when she was 10 months old due to 2 massive seizures, but she managed to hold on strong and live up to her middle name (Angel). After that, I got pretty heavy into IM and started making a decent income. Then we had Nevaeh, and most recently, Gary. And now I can safely say that everything I do, every dollar I make, every breath I take, and every step I make is for them. My kids literally saved my life, and they are the ONLY thing that keeps me going on every day. So without them I would almost 100% likely be dead.

So thank you Kristan, James, Sarah, Jaden, Jayla, Jasmine, Nevaeh, and Gary :)

That's nice story. I myself don't have any kids yet (still too young), but I can't wait to have one. It seems that the biggest love you can get is a love from your parent.

I'm glad that you've changed and that you are working to get your kids a better life. I wish you much luck and success with it and I wish you all to have one big, happy family!

2011nfl, you got a lotta kids, man!

I'm not that much younger than you, and I have none. I used to really want them, but currently find business/work exhaustive enough. I am currently enjoying my free time alone with the wifey.

I wonder how much different my life with children would be almost everyday. I think we're getting closer. I'm pretty sure we would step our game up into hyperdrive! That's probably one reason we wait, not ready to go full tilt, but we're also sort of waiting until success comes from our businesses...

Glad to hear you straightened things out. Having my son made me rethink EVERYTHING that I do or think. Priorities change real fast.

They sure do. I remember when I was a teenager, my biggest bill was my weed stash lol.
Now I've been clean from smoking weed for 12 years :)

    In my mind
I like to use the gaming analogy. For people who have never been to that new level in this game called life. Once you have a child then you are on the next level of life and it's such a wonderful feeling. I now know what true unconditional love is and I believe this is something that can only be achieved with your kids and not with spouses. Love between men and women can turn to hate in a blink of an eye but when you have a kid, it's truly forever and no matter what they do you will always love them. Its a wonderful experience but it does require alot of time and money invested into it but it's worth every second every penny! You get a real sense of purpose in life when you have kids and it seems like nothing else matters except them. They can bring you tons of joy and open your eyes to the smallest and the simplest of moments in life. I feel so lucky to have my kids who have enriched my life in ways I would have never known.
