Where to sell shoutouts? And my experience.

Anyone with some experience of good places to sell shoutouts?

Quick google search recommends shoutcart and influencer-cart.

From my experience shoutcart will reject large accounts (over 1.5m followers) with the reason that the followers are fake, even if proven not fake. Why? My opinion is that they have many large accounts they use for shoutouts so they don't want competition.

Funny thing is Shoutcart also owns or partnered with Fameswap which is a middleman platform to sell instagram accounts. Fameswap is known for selectively scamming large transactions, they would basically say something like "oh your account was hacked just after you gave us the account details, so sorry" (i had a similar experience and usually scammers will insist on using fameswap instead of other better options like swapd). So basically they have a bunch of large accounts they got through scamming on fameswap and then use these to provide shoutouts on shoutcart. This is why they reject large accounts to promote on shoutcart, they don't want much competition.

Influencer-cart is great actually but most people can't find them, they are not ranked top on google searches. So they don't have as many promo buyers.

What are some of the other options?

Usually if you have an attractive account with a good amount of followers and a good engagement rate, you will have people asking you for a shoutout. However, you can start contacting small companies and ask them yourself if they want a shoutout.

Yes most of my promo sales are through DM. Contacting companies is a good idea!

+1 - Another tip is to google dork "your niche" + shopify - email them and you'll see some sucess

See other accounts in your niche, keep an eye on what kind of brands they're promoting, make a list and start reaching out to these brands and their competitors(you can always frame something like your competition is way ahead and promoting themselves on Social media but you're missing out or something along those lines, you get the idea) which should work well too.

post it on forums, like for real, I found the shoutouts I needed through forums, if you have the time you can message just a random smaller accounts on your niche offering them shoutouts, yeah it's time consuming but it kinda works (from my personal experience buying it hehe)

Outreach people interested in promoting their e-commerce or POD stores. They're likely to pay well higher than normal story mentions (Depends on engagement rate)

I've heard good things about influencer cart and after your info about shout cart, I'm not so sure I would pursue them myself. I'm always looking for credible places to get quality shout outs for various niches.
