Godaddy has them. If you search for a website then on the next page whether it is available or not they will say, other locales you might want. Or something like that.

.com.au is a controlled domain. You need to have a ABN (Australian Business Number, issued by the Australian Tax Office) to even apply for one. If the domain name has no relation to your registered business it will not get approved. I've even had some that I thought were relevant not get approved.

Thats why you see so many good one's still available.

You may be able to find an Aussie to do it for you, but not this one - sorry.

I just went back to Godaddy after reading your replies and typed some random stuff in and it said the popular australian domain (moderation system triggered!!!) is available and I went as far as the payment screen. I didn't want to buy it just to test. Does this mean that after you pay godaddy you're still not 100% certain of getting the website?

    Yes, you need to.

Not all the time, but most of the times you're asked for the details to verify you have an ABN.

We provide webdevelopment for Oz and we did verify once and now we are above to register without any issue.
