depends on the people you are targeting in my opinion.
You can do split tests to see which area is more effective and concentrate a bit more on that.

But in regards to guest posts... link building ect you need a strategy
You need to choose the best keywords to target, know expected traffic and work towards top 3 for those keywords
Anything out of top 3 drastically reduce potential customers.

So what I try to say is if you find some keyword that achieves 1000 searches per month and there is not too much competition
Then it would be a good idea to concentrate more on the SEO efforts,

but if is the opposite, might be better not to spend time on that and concentrate on other avenues.

Another thing is paid traffic. Like popunder traffic is very cheap and can be targeted too. But is the worst method for me in my personal experience

I'm not sure what type of fitness site you operate, but have you considered promoting your site locally?

This doesn't necessarily even have to be online, but you can do a bit of offline promotion in your community as well.

hmmm...I more into Adsense. I do check around CPC rate on fitness and health is very " cheap " that why highest I can managed to earn is 4 dollars? lowest only few cents.
I do check some keywords etc..basically everyone knows Health and Fitness is a tough , competitive niche.

offline promotion, I have to see how to go about it.

In fact my blog is Video Blog.
