A quick way to get any info on a "legal" business is with the secretary of state for the state they are operating in.

Do a quick google search for "sos" and the state name.

They will have a "business look up".

You will be able to find the owners of the business and other legal information.

    Hope that helps!

    Good luck :)

So true. I my state the website gives a lot of information. It lists the registered agent and other info such as officers, year of incorporation, and realm of business activities.

Also you could go to the Business License division at City Hall. Not everyone is smart enough to incorporate or LLC. :)

For those that have an LLC, which state did you file in? I've heard Nevada and Delaware have the best tax advantages?

If you are going to incorporate, then choose Nevada or Delaware. For something as simple as an LLC, Nevada will work fine.

Honestly it is a bit of extra work, but I am assuming you are doing web design or something for them. Great business plan.

I would suggest quickly flipping through the paper daily, or atleast checking out the online news website. They usually post a quick article about opening and upcoming businesses.

Send them a letter or give them a call, and you should be in. Good Luck.

Just hit me too. Possible job postings. Sometimes opening business will post jobs on CL, in the paper, and online. That should help too.
