Im not sure where to get content for the topics I would like to write about. Any advice on what websites to use other than Wikipedia?

The content would be offbeat, looking at something normal in an unexpected way (top 10 ways College makes you dumb for example), hidden knowledge (things most people don?t know), misconceptions, facts, and just really really good general knowledge about anything ? science for example.

Here is a bit more of a description about the ideal content topics:
    I. Mysteries: Unsolved mysteries about man, the universe, monsters, UFOs, aliens, demons, ghosts, witches, etc.
II. Dark side of man: for example writing about- Top 10 Evil Men, Top 10 Evil Women, Top 10 Evil Human Experiments,
    etc.
III. Secrets: This is subjects that the average person either doesn?t know, or isn?t meant to know. Secret codes, ciphers, places that are forbidden to the average person.
IV. Facts or Misconceptions: Facts we don?t know, disproving something we commonly believe to be true, or generally telling us more about something we already knew.
    V. History: Interesting topics in history

Kind of impossible to answer, since you don't tell us what, if anything, you're willing to pay. You can get crap at Fiverr for $5, or great content at Constant Content for $40-$100. It just depends on the level of quality you need.

If you're talking about ripping content, what's the point? If it isn't unique, it won't rank.

You could always buy a few obsolete and out of print books on the subjects - these type of books are available for a few cents on ebay or get yourself into a thrift/charity store.

Re-write the content with your own tone/spin - scanning and using a good OCR programme will help. Or scan and send off to Odesk for someone to re-write for cheap.

I was going to suggest that you should get some books on the subject. In the past I have written a few articles about supernatural stuff and I actually had a book where I got lots of the info from. Check out your local library.

Some of the big franchise bookstores, like Barnes & Noble, carry the most recent books, and even have tables and chairs at many locations to allow you to read books on the premises with little hassle. If you put together an efficient system, you could bring a scratchbook, laptop or tablet and make notes or outlines for article purposes.

I agree with getting some good old books. This may have some new information that you do not know. And they are always interesting to look at as well.

Here's a nice place to get a bounty of strange topics that should appeal to yourself and your audience:

    Code:
    http://www.coasttocoastam.com/
There is an archive of all the episodes aired that you can use for inspiration or creative adaptation to text(hehe wink wink).

As for content presentation, you can use the knowledge you have already and apply/repurpose it to another related aspect of your readers interests.

For instance you can take "Top 10 Evil Men" and turn it into "Top 5 common traits of the most evil people in history and how to spot them in the workplace/friends/strangers/etc". Something along that line.

It not only satisfies their curiousity, it turns into an engagement scenario where they are learning how to protect themselves from being a victim (and we all know that the only reason people want to know about the occult and other strange things is to be able to protect themselves from it should they end up in a situation like that).

This kind of thing can be filler when you need to stretch a topic a bit further or for just having new content that appeals to your audience.

Well just a few ideas for you to play with, good luck and give me your website link. I love this paranormal and occult stuff too. :)

As a starter you could also look up strange and odd facts about your topic and then write an article about that. Mix content that you find on various websites.
