Search for Angel investors. But before you contact them, make sure your Business plan it's good enough
I would consider old school networking. I am sure there are some rich people in your city. Start rubbing shoulders with people who are close to them. Attend events, be a pleasant person to be around and eventually you will get into circles where you can get funding for your idea.

If you already have this mindset you´re preparing yourself for failure.
The worst thing that can happen is they say NO.
But this doesn´t necessarily mean your project is NOT worth it, many investors have a very well defined portfolio of investment that range a very particular industry or industries and perhaps yours doesn´t fall into their portfolio profile or it´s just a project they are not interested in, but this doesn´t mean it´s not a good and viable project.
Just keep on knocking on doors until you find someone that is interested in investing in your project.

See if your local government office has business advisors who offer free advice on things like business plans, marketing ideas and finance.
See if there are any government grants available.

Honestly you need to know people in your professional network. Usually this happens at school (if you go to a fee paying school) or at University (a good one) or internships or the first couple of years at your job. If you don't have this go to meetups in a big city and pretend to know what you are talking about (even if you don't). Try to get into the culture by going to the same kind of bars/coffee shops that investors in your area go to, maybe get a t-shirt with your company logo and a QR code on it during some meet-and-greet event. If not any of this, forget about it. No one will reach out to you over the internet and give you money (except a kickstarter/charity thing).
