As per the thread title, a friend of mine is looking at running a vbulletin forum overseas - to avoid any potential lawsuits. Is there a haven overseas that offers such protection? If so, where would you recommend?

I think there are a few people here offering hosting like this. ExtraWinner's thread comes to mind.

I don't know what you're doing, however don't forget that your domain name is importantly as well. If for example your hosting is in Russia but you break an American Law and your domain ends in .com. The American government can still seize the domain without ever touching your hosting.

So be sure to cover all of your bases. :)

Completely true, and it's gonna be worse if SOPA passes.

Well, it obviously depends on what you are trying to host. Replica sales, kiddie porn, pictures of women eating shit?

Try prq.se , they accept almost everything. Chechen "terrorists" and organizations for pedos for example.

Do you honestly expect them to say yes?
No one in their right mind would even reply to an email like that and you
have just exposed yourself in their eyes as a total liability.

When dealing with bulletproof hosts they will tell you what you can't do on each
server, If it's not in their list of can'ts don't be stupid and ask.

    Try these.
    Code:
    https://arbusi.net
Lol I'm still cracking up at your email.
I bet you get a reply saying "of course we do Mr Fed!"

Just sign up at PRQ or somewhere, don't tell them anything, run it for as long as you can.

You gotta be shitting me you want to phish passwords, steal cash and expect the feds not to kick down your door ? Or what ever law enforcement agency that represents your country of residence. Put down the crack pipe and run not walk away from your idea. :vroam:
