Probably within Reddit itself. The system auto promotes subs, just learn how to get seen within the system.

Learn cross posting on Reddit.. Meaning post your subreddit on other subreddits in your niche or what you can also do that no one thinks of here This is a Golden Nugget for you since i am in a good mood today.. Search for "Reddit" Groups on FACEBOOK join them and post your subreddit there..

As a moderator of 5 subreddits, I can tell you that
1) they grow by itself
2) promote it further by crossposting to relevant subs

Crosspost and comment your subreddit.
Be a valuable member in other subreddits of your niche and people will automatically subscribe to your subreddit with the time.
But you need to be consistent, this is a longterm method.
Alternative I've heared reddit ads can also help to grow a subreddit. But I've never used this method..

They grow by themselves.. well.. depends on the niche.. if you have little content and small sub then yeah.. good luck. Maybe you will get 1 new sub/day. I have 3 subs around 5000 users and they grow by themselves 1-6 new members/day. That is painfully slow.. crossposting or posting with your sub link in the post to bigger subs is a must.
