Where I should use social bookmarking and where directory submission

Hello BHW Members,


I am doing directory submissions from last one year for local website owners in india. I am very curious about how it can give me best results as compared to social bookmarking.


I find both as a technique to create backlinks but social bookmarking looks more useful as serach engine generally visit social bookmarkig sites. Social bookmarks are generally approved instantly while in directory submission it takes time to get your submission approved.


If any senior member can guide me about where I should use social bookmarking and where directory submission that will be useful.
