I've always been quite curious about computers and how they're made from scratch and by scratch I mean from the very bottom up, and not connecting pre-made parts. I haven't really looked into computers and technology much though because I never really got around to it and it's quite overwhelming if you want to understand every single process. So recently I decided to search around and came across this video.

This is just a fraction of what the whole process involves, it is pretty amazing how far technology has gone and how complicated it has become. I'm not exactly dumbfounded more so overwhelmed at the knowledge this involves. It's crazy if you think about it, it involves so many people. There goes my dream of making my own computer from scratch in a reasonable amount of time...

But seriously, unless you have money you are so limited with what you can do.

I'm a tinkerer myself as I like to keep my PC at it's best for gaming.

Never looked into how the parts themselves are made though so this is quite interesting. The thing I'm so surprised about is the use of so many people in the production line. I thought it would be mostly computerised. Although that's an odd concept in itself, computers creating computers!

That's just crazy to think about it. Unless you are an engineer, just stop thinking about it else they'll force you into a mental institution.

Have you seen those "how do they do it" episodes?

I love watch that shit, it amazes me how someone can build a factory and custom made machines to produce millions and millions of the same thing over and over again on auto pilot..... that's where the real money is man! ;)

That's a great video. Really interesting to see what goes into producing a motherboard!

I think network communications is even more interesting - like when you send an email, the journey it takes is humongous and the time it takes is probably less time than it takes you to click send.

    modern technology is amazing!

I can watch that show for hours. If there is an all day marathon, I know I'm not getting anything done for the day.

I've never heard of it before but it's pretty awesome that you have mentioned them. I love this kind of stuff too!

    And not only.
