I always check my search queries in Webmasters to see any I may not be optimizing for so that I can improve my traffic. I also check my current performance on my main keywords.

Something I've noticed is that my average position is always rising, it never seems accurate, and I've been in a dance for a while.

For example, for a very competitive keyword, my average position is 10, yet I can't event find my site in the first 10 pages because of the dance.

I know there is a couple days delay in the tool, but I am accounting for that in this post, so don't reply with that.

I've also noticed a generally steady increase in traffic, especially organic traffic. I expected my traffic to fall off like a rock when I hit the dance, but it's been holding steady if not increasing.

Maybe this is a cookie issue and I'm really ranked higher in Google but it looks like a dance in my browser? I've never heard of cookies making you rank lower, though, only higher...

Anybody else have any insight on the completely apparent inaccuracies of the tool?
