Hi guys, I want to know where to find images for my a blog that will potentially be an authority site?

I thought wallpaper sites will do but I am now scared of facing copy right issues.

I don't have the kind of money to pay for each image every time in royalty free sites.

    Any suggestions?

http://www.sxc.hu/ is good. Some pictures got conditions for commercial use tho. In some cases you need to notify the artists about using the images and sometimes you need to give credit to them, but most of them don't require anything at all. You can see the restrictions under the image previews.

I take my own pictures or create jpg's. I would think its pretty easy to do that for most any site. Or splice a few pictures from the internet together.

in flickr you can choose to only see photos that are Creative commons.. and I think you can filter it for commercial use

It all depends on whether or not you want to stay above board and use royalty free images.

If you don't care about ownership rights and whatnot, then Google Images is fine.

If you have a budget - sites like Big Stock and 123RF are great for buying royalty free images.

There are also a ton of free options out there. I can't post links yet, since my post count is too low, but there is an article by Jeff Hayden on Inc that lists a bunch of free photo resources. The title is "Easy way to give your website a makeover" - for those of you that wanna dig it up.

Well if your making an authority you either have a lot of capitol...Such hire a graphics designer...or learn yourself..adobe photoshop....or your creating a pr newtork which is black hat in nature so go ahead and jack everything from google. Remeber google can't read images only alt and title of images.

I tend to just use Google images, not had a problem so far! However, on one of my blogs, I do a lot of make-up and cosmetic reviews and take the photos myself, these work really well :)

Just steal em from Google images. You would have to become a HUGE and extremely well known site before anyone would complain about you using their images. I will say Flickr's Creative Commons section can have some good ones, but seriously just use Google images.
