Did you ask them to...? I don't see why they wouldn't if you ask them to.

If not, e-mail them and ask them for one.

most people don't want to send a pic.

    i know I wouldn't.

i've emailed companies and told them how awesome their product is before, but i wouldn't give them a pic. it's kind of creepy to me, especially since most testimonials have the name and city along with the pic.

actually, have there been any studies done showing that putting a face with a testimonial is more effective? seems like something most people "just do."

Just use google images; search for some random name (robert) and grab some pics. You can do the same think @ myspace, facebook, twitter, etc.

if you do a google search for people and some1 really sees that you are using his/her pic without his consent it may land you up in deep shit. The best bet would be asking some friends to give their pics and not mentioning the place or mentioning a fake place like if you have friends in new york and get 6-7 of them to give you testimonials. Just say that some are from UK some USA some from China....you get the point

Yes . . . as freeoptions said above. Why not use friends and family. Just get out the family photo album and scan away. You will be safe from any legal repercussions that way.

Why not ask the people who sent the testimonial for a pic? If they say no use an image with a blurred out face or something

This is a very bad recommendation since most images on Google are copyrighted and you might get into trouble. Of course the chance is slim but why take the chance for something as mundane as testimonials.

I recommend free stock photo sites like www.sxc.hu.
