Where do I build links if the website is a sub domain of another domain?

    If the main website is called www.website.com, but a lot of pages are showing up on the 2nd and 3rd page where the website is a subdomain for another website like www.otherwebsite.website.com/nameofthepage (there is a feed of content coming in from the other website and shown on the main website using the main website's header & footer & sidebar

    Where should I build the links? Should I build the links to that exact URL above?

    I would build links to the sub-domain. Because the main domain doesn't really pass off its authority to its sub-domain.

    Why don't you make the sub-domain a separate page? That way, it will pass off its authority or SEO value to those pages under the main domain.

    Can I build links to that exact page? The subdomain.maindomain.com/page

    I can't make it a page - it is a service I pay for coming through the website as a subdomain
