So let's say I have a site with 10 articles.

I have created 10 HQ, manual Web 2.0 properties. They all have bios, 3-5 articles and some even a store.

Where do I put the link to my site?

Won't linking in the article make it look like I made it? Should I add it to the 'References' at the bottom?

ALSO, Can I add more than 1 link to my money site from them? Say I link back to the homepage, can I link to one of the inner pages too?

You can insert the hyperlink (plus anchor text) into the article of a blogpost. I like this method.

You may add more than 1 link from a web 2.0 property to your money site, but don't overdo it.

In your money site, you can do interlinking. This way can increase SERP of other inner page.

it's recommended to link to other authority websites who are not in direct competition with you. Of course you'll lose some link juice but it is beleived that it might keep you safe from known (penguin and panda) updates.

You need some outbound links to authority websites. Just 1 link to your website. Avoid Exact match anchors. Keep em` below 15%

Here is how I build my web 2.0's

    1. Add one 500 word article on the home page (drop my link in the first paragraph usually)

    2. Add 2-3 pages with original content (About Us, More info, etc)

    3. Link to a few niche related authority sites

    4. Embed pictures and youtube videos within each web 2.0

    5. Build some tier 1 links to these web 2.0's

    6. Sit back and watch your rankings increase :)

I link to my site from the upper half of the text body, and then to Wikipedia or another authority site from the lower half, at least once.

    Great answer! Thanks :)

What type of links would you recommend sending to the web 2.0's?

My budget is very small, so I would be looking for cheap/manual ways to power them up!

Lots of options. BlackHatLinks.com has some good link packages, but not the cheapest. If your budget is really small software is your best bet, or maybe as many fiverr gigs as you can afford. Read PHP's onsite SEO guide, it's about onsite but he talks a lot about how to use web 2.0s.

I think if you want to concentrate on just 10 web 2.0 properties then I strongly recommend you to DIY. Also, try to give 2 links per post 1 to any authority site and 1 to your money site.

And try to maintain these 10 properties and update them on timely manner. I guess it will give good result.

You can link (web 2.0 sites) to your money making site directly, even to your inner page -- Talking about interlinking to your site, link to main or fast ranking kws from home page, so your one page is not ranking but your entire site is ranking overall (As soon as you get the link juice) Bingo! Now, should link to other authority site page like wikipedia (for seo purpose)
