IPv6 is a standard not a standalone software so you can't install it but you can apply it. We currently run IPv4 generation of Internet Protocol but since there are tons of new internet users plugging in every day addresses (numbers) are slowly running out so they invented a new form of IP address to fill up the gap. It's called IPv6 and it's the next generation network layer.

IPv4: 245.214.324.154
IPv6: 2001:db8:85a3:0:0:8a2e:370:7334

To get started with IPv6 you will need at least Windows XP because that's the first version of Windows to have IPv6 support. Fire up your command prompt and type in:

ipv6 install

To see what you just installed, type in:

ipv6 if

Now you have IPv6 set on your computer but to use it on the internet you will need to plug in to an IPv6 tunnel and you will need a Tunnel Broker for that. Tunnel brokers are set all around the world and they offer IPv6 implementation to end-user. Each one of them has its own requirements and features so it would be best to check some of them out and decide which one to pick on your own. Here's the list:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IPv6_tunnel_brokers

Choose your Tunnel Broker and register with it. Download their tunneling software, install it and you should be a proud user of IPv6 protocol. Note that some browsers might not support IPv6, you can visit http://www.kame.net/ to see if you're running IPv6 or not.
