I've spent a few days messing around with google and watching a few youtube tutorials on finding a good Niche's to start a website on but I still haven't found anything that resonates with me as something I can do.
Are there any good guides that go in to it in more detail?

The site in my sig offers a free guide on how to build MNS from the ground up, including an entire section on keyword research. Seems to be exactly what you're looking for ;)

dealsopoly I just ordered a keyword from your mentor based on your recommendation on another thread. Received in last night and am excited to start working it using the guide as well. Perhaps you can point the OP toward that Fiverr deal as well?

    Hey guys!
I kinda need some help related to this topic, so I won't start a new one.
So, I saw an offer on a affiliate marketing website, checked with Google keyword tool it's name and I've found that it has 12.000 exact searches/month with low competition. It's a offer about a software, so the first page on Google is full of cnet like download links. I've already bought a domain for this, and probably I'll try something with this soon.
So, is there any hope? Not to mention, the offer pays 1.05/download.
    Thanks a lot!

Here's the problem, and interestingly enough I always this as a good measure for the rest of development a person will have in IM or in any business for that matter.

Choosing the right keywords is all about feeling and you can't learn that from a tutorial, book or guide. What it comes down to is, when you see a site in the serps and some hard data with it you intuitively know if that is a good keyword or not.

To get this intuition you just have to do keyword research, lots and lots of keyword research and at some point you'll just get it. It is also extremely important that you get the keyword research process down properly. All your SEO success will depend on this, if you pick the wrong keywords you will end up wasting time and money trying to rank for something that is just too difficult to rank for or rank for a keyword that isn't worth anything.

    Best of luck to everyone.

Have you started any backlinking to it right now? Where are you currently ranking? I've never done SEO for software download, so I'm not really sure what it would take to beat out CNET downloads.

I like keyword scout -- you can search for reviews on youtube for it.
