    Hi there.

I distribute flyer and business card in the downtown business area for my Google Places service. But there is no response at all. It seems like no one is interested to be on the 1st page of Google local search.

What should I do to get clients ?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Let your fingers do the walking. I have sold the same product for 2 years. Hire a commission based salesmen and put him on the phone.

On this one a flyer does you really no good. You are marketing online service but your still using old Methods. I would ask if your so good getting me to pay one then why are you handing stuff out as you should be on page on getting business.

So here is what I do.
First make sure you show up on page one for an example that you can use.
second I send out a post card
third I follow up with an email
Fourth I have a sales rep contact them.

The more exposure you have the better your chances are. Another thing I do is sponsor the local Chamber once a quarter on the newsletter they send out. They do a nice write up on the company and boom I have a few more sales.

    Hope this helps

Or you can read some of the good scripts provided on the forum, get on the phone and start cold calling. Bar none, the fastest way to get clients. Only when you have a bunch of them and you are making a good monthly income, you can afford to go into the more passive ways of advertising. Starting out, cold calling is hard to do, especially if u dont have any experience in sales but there is no other faster way to get clients...Just my 2 cents...

If he means he ranks customers number 1 on google local listings, then what is so hard to believe about it? Many people will pay for it because it does generate callers, and thus sales.

Couple it with providing a website for their local niche at the number 1 spot on google for their niche + city and also have them at the top of the google local listings and you'll make yourself some good cash.

i would like to know if he uses any "special" techniques to get his clients ranked high on gp. Manually typing reviews sounds like a pain...

    Hey Joe0074,

Do you know what a Molecular Tooth Hydro Generator is? And how it can help you while visiting the dentist? I didn't think so... (btw, it's a fictional item, completely made up)

I'm not surprised at all that you got zero response to your flyers... Most businesses have no idea what Google Places is... they barely know what SEO is and even then they don't really understand how it can help them.

Flyers are a terrible way to advertise your services... most go directly to the trash can! It's about one step above those spam emails that you get offering a full site SEO for $99...lol

If you want more clients, learn how to speak their "language". Put your services in terms they can relate to and understand. Your success rate will skyrocket when you learn how to do that!

    #1 - Don't give up
    #2 - Don't give up
#3 - Post your flyer up (or PM it if you're concerned) to get tips on how to improve it (or pay someone here to create a good one for you)
#4 - Hire someone to find sales for you (there are plenty of guys here that will do that in the "hiring" section of BHW
    #5 - Don't give up

I agree. Speak to them in words that matter and does Google places matter as much the words "a new customers, making your phone ring, increasing your bottom line, freeing up your time, etc."

What is it you really want in and for your business, make a list and then see how that list would apply to other business owners. The more personal it is the more universal it is.

    Good luck
