Not PBN or bullshiet links but tons of massive links in the form of editorial mentions and links like "story via Racked.com" from super high authority sites like Teen Vogue etc?

I know they buy these editorial mentions from a legit mainstream company that offers legitimate editorial links for sale for quality sites but does anyone know who those companies are?

Racked.com is huge (just check it in ahrefs, 630k backlinks total, 17.5k referring domains, traffic worth is over $900k a month adsense worth... This site is much bigger than Wirecutter

For example they have like 20 backlinks from Teen Vogue

    http://www.teenvogue.com/story/sample-sample
    http://www.teenvogue.com/story/kylie-jenner-first-kiss-coachella-nyc-apple-ring-news-roundup
    http://www.teenvogue.com/story/alexa-chung-ag-jeans-fall-2015-collection

Tons and tons of editorial links from Nymag.com PR 7
    http://nymag.com/thecut/2015/07/being-age-12-a-story-in-4-limited-too-outfits.html#
    http://nymag.com/thecut/2015/03/makeup-hoarder.html

Tons of links from MTV Canada
http://fora.mtv.ca/2011/04/ (sites like vogue, W Magazine) are also getting editorial links. I'm pretty sure you have to buy these...

Tons of links from Gawker (it says republished from Racked.com)
    http://gawker.com/5526041/donatella-versace-will-allow-you-to-be-her-intern-for-20000
    http://gawker.com/5518213/marc-jacobs-to-become-west-village-bookmonger

    68 backlinks from posugar.com

These are all massive authority sites. Which mainstream media network is selling these packages? These are the kind of links I would love to get. Where do i go to get hooked up like that???
I am pretty sure these are not free links but paid for... but where to buy?

Oops sorry i meant to post this in white hat forum since this is not blackhat....

Once you have enough authority you dont need to buy links. They start off using social media and once they get their brand recognition everything is downhill from there. Try to build real websites and you'll get real links.

I don't think they bought these links. Authority sites link to eachother because they are "authority sites".

The first step is getting your site recognized and that requires huge capital. I am not talking about spending 1k or even 10k but millions of dollars. Thats how these brands are built.

Hmm.. interesting.. so there's no mainstream media company that is selling links like these on legit sites?

crazy how they have so many high quality editorial links' like literally thousands of them...

and authority sites have links at the bottom of their stories to other stories on high authority sites; like "shout outs" if you will.

If you guys say it's all natural then i guess it is but you sure there's no mass media packages selling links on these sites like that?

Another example of sites with great editorial backlinks is truthinaging.com but they are less of an authority site than racked.com but overall still huge with 2.1k backlinks... but they are a skin care store and sell stuff.... but they still get great editorial links. However they do offer plenty of content including an ingredients encyclopedia. Do you think they buy them or get them for free? I feel like they buy them because i do see them doing SEO and writing blog posts etc... but then they also have links this

these are what i call "shout out" links

    http://blog.spaweek.com/2014/10/03/links-we-love-weekend-sendoff-october-3rd/

Do you really think these sites get these links for free without buying anything??? Are sites like refinery29.com really getting these links without paying anything or doing outreach just cause they are an authority site?

Those are 100% paid links there is a lot of sites including "authority sites" doing that charging anywhere from $50 - $300 per "link" all you have to do is contact and ask them what it would take to be linked like that. Though in order to try and hide the fact they are paid they will link a crazy high authority site in the same area like The Chive does linking tmz then a bunch of so so sites that are all paying or owned by someone at The Chive. This is a well known easy way to get sites to rank fast and high piggybacking off such a popular site... Basicly "INSTARANK!" LOL

Thank you 420friendly! Exactly what i was looking for.

I know these sites are owned by multi million dollar companies but their sheer amount of backlinks and kw's they rank for is truly insane!!!!!!! Some of these sites are ranking for keywords with over a million monthly searches!!!!

Freaking refinery29.com has en estimated MONTHLY traffic worth of 2 million dollars.. WTF!

For example, Racked is listed on the second page for just the term "Kate Middleton" which has one million searches!

on the first page for "davids' bridal" which is a famous bridal store in the U.S (over 300k keyword searches per month"

wtf its insane.. if you can build a site like this you'll be making over 100k a month!

    Money.

Im sure if you offered Google enough money they would give you a link too.

Might cost a few billion but they would eventually do it. :)

Yup it is money... Let me give you an example: with The Chive as I have mentioned before... I know about 5 of the sites personally they are "shouting out" to randomly and one of them I do business with and he spends about 30k per month on links and 50% of it goes to "The Chive" and employee at "Break" for posting articles. And I can tell you it works very very well as the amount of domains pointing to his site are extremely minimal but they are very much authority. I have even seen a site that only had 20 ref domains and was only 1yr old very thin crap content, small site get some mentions on the sites I am talking about and one of his pages that was linked went to #3 almost instantly (less than 24hrs) in a EXTREMELY competitive niche keyword and is still there right now 3 months later with a backlink profile that would have you scratching your head. It seems like SEO now a days is not the amount of links you have, how great your site is or any of that other crap everyone says is so important... it is how much authority you have in your linking profile. And for that my friend I do not care what anyone says it cost big money... the number 1 no no according to Google. LOL But see Google will not go through and ding 10+ high ranking top authority sites as they all have monster adwords accounts with Google making them BIG $$$$$.

So in closing unless you have big money or have an "in" with someone that can get you monster authority links that will stay, you will not rank constantly for highly competitive niches.

Obviously you can buy a link on every page as long as the price is right. People who believe that it's all natural linking are the same people who still believe in Saint Nicholas.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying there are not natural high authority backlinks out there, but to assume that each and every one of them is legit is insane.

It's a few of the largest marketing companies who have access to these large brands websites.

They exchange links between each other. Not directly but a group of 50-100 sites are all connected. Nothing new here.

People with power keep others out. They are more than likely not for sale and never will be.

The only way you would get links like these is to become an actual large brand yourself....or if you're lucky, just by chance.

Funny, this is the definition of a blog network. Just at a way more complex and at a better level than we can do ourselves.

Big guys get away with it, and the little players get hammered.

Money makes the world go round.. you should send this to our friend www.viperchill.com he usually gets these kind of things viral and in the face of Google.

    Home Page:
This site is good for finding some niche related authority links:
    https://www.matomyseo.com

I know a few large companies go here for link buying because I have sold to them through that platform.

I guess large companies also employ a lot of professional/full time bloggers that manually reach out to a lot of site and broker deals -I would imagine.
