When is hiring a professional SEO company to take over your sites a good idea?

I'm working on some other projects right now that take up a lot of my time like real estate investing and a Hookah lounge I'm opening with a friend.

I don't have time to do SEO for my 3 sites, so when do you guys think it's a good time to hire a professional SEO company to take over the SEO for my sites?

When you answer, please keep a mind, many of these companies cost anywhere from $200-$1,200/month.

I'm not talking about some SEO fiverr gig.

When you can afford it?

When you can pay for it. Also IMO don't buy the white hat guys their results are usually shit, IMO black hat aware people are better in white hat stuff.

if you want to do SEO for your site you can hire a freelancer (section) here.

More than when, it should be why you should hire them. I think if you have the reason/need for such professionals and you expect some intended results, so you can hire them right on the day 1, else if you don't need its fine as there is no perfect time, because whosoever will be working will start from the scratch in most cases.

That is a hard question as there are lots of variables.
  1. Assuming you are still building/ranking the sites, you could hire today if you are prepared to accept a loss and the other work is more lucrative.
  2. If they are established and earning, as long as the service costs no more than you earn from the sites, a maintenance contract would suffice to keep them ranked and ticking over.
  3. No idea what your sites are, but they may require more hands on service, i.e. adding new stock, managing orders etc, in which case the previous point counts and a VA could do that for you.
You need to be way more specific to get a helpful answer with this one.

I'm currently ranking my sites but I just want someone to take over building backlinks.

It's an affiliate site.

As soon as you have the cash to be able to pay for proper SEO. With proper, I mean paying somebody who actually knows what works in 2019.
I believe every business needs it, but most people are too cheap and try to save where they shouldn't be saving.

With one sentence - just use maths.
When the bonus profits from the SEO + saved time > SEO expenses.

Please stop giving him bullshit advice. Blackhat will get his site flagged and burned. Don't be silly, white-hat SEO is the only way moving forward. Get with the program!

Did you even read what I said? Please read before replying

It's time, when your site can afford to pay for an SEO that will perform as good or better service than you provided and still show a profit. Also the other indevors will need to have profits that exceed the cost of paying that SEO. If you have your process well documented a VA may be a better option, you can use them for simple tasks in your other ventures.

You sound like a serial entrepreneur. It's hard to deligate the job title you once held, but in order to juggle multiple business or investments you must learn how. I suggest you read or listen to the book "The E Myth" by Michael E Gerber.

BlackHat SEO is only dangerous if you're stupid about it. And I haven't seen a "WhiteHat" agency yet that didn't dabble in at least some BH practices.

If you have something to add to the discussion, say it. Taking a stance of "I'm right and you're wrong but I won't tell you why" isn't going to earn much respect here.
